Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association’s national movement dedicated to making a difference in the fight against heart disease, the No. 1 killer of women. While 1 in 3 women die from heart disease and stroke, 80% of the time it can be prevented if we make the right choices. The Go Red movement empowers women to live healthier lives and funds critical research to advance gender-specific detection and treatment.
The movement has made a significant impact in the first 10 years...34% fewer women die from heart disease each year and 23% more women are aware that it is their No. 1 killer. While we lose a woman in the U.S. every minute to heart disease, 330 women per day are now being saved.
The Go Red For Women Luncheon is a life-changing experience – impacting women, their loved ones and the organizations they touch. The event educates and inspires guests with an interactive expo that includes screenings and highlights organizations that want to connect with women; a memorable fashion show featuring stories of heart disease and stroke survivors; and a motivational keynote speaker.
