2011 Central Kentucky Heart & Stroke Ball
Event chair: James E. “Ted” Bassett III
Honoree: Ralph Hacker
With a Special Tribute to: Sam Barnes
The Central Kentucky American Heart Association throws a hearty party on March 26th at the Lexington Center-Bluegrass Ballroom. Be there to help celebrate progress against heart disease and stroke by honoring Ralph Hacker and paying tribute to Sam Barnes, who demonstrated how one person can make a difference.
Tuxes and evening gowns, clink of crystal, flash of bidding cards, flash of smiles, flush of satisfaction with the knowledge that you’re fighting two of Kentucky’s top killers. This is the Heart & Stroke Ball. It’s an annual favorite of Central Kentucky business, medical and philanthropic leaders.
This premier black-tie event raises money for the American Heart Association, which funds advocacy, education, and research in the battle against heart disease and stroke—including nearly $3 million in active awards at The Saha Cardiovascular Research Center in Lexington.
Highlights of the 2011 gala will be recognition of special honoree Ralph Hacker, beloved former “voice of the Wildcats”—and a special tribute to the late Sam Barnes illustrating how one person can “make a difference” in the community; the one-of-a-kind auction items; the fine dining; and the dance music by The Souled Out Band—back by popular demand.
Formal and fun, the Central Kentucky Heart & Stroke Ball is a dynamic way to make a difference.
